Is your drinking water clean? The best thing you can do for you and others in your home is investigate it, test it, and change your drinking water source.
Check out our Clean Water Part 1 where we explore Fluoride Water versus Fluoride-Free Water

Now if you read PART ONE “What’s in Your Water? Fluoride-Free or Regular Water”, and if you’re still reading, you obviously care, so we’ve provided you with a LIST OF 4 ACTIONS YOU CAN TAKE to start drinking cleaner water.
If this doesn’t bother you because you’ve read many articles classifying products as carcinogens, toxic, or unhealthy & you are over it— then you’ve become DESENSITIZED my friend, and you need to snap out of it. These aren’t conspiracy theories, this is backed up by real long standing evidence.
Different Types of Drinking Water on the Market:
Purified Water
— meets certain purity standards (removing chemicals and microbes), but the process varies with some of the examples below (distillation, deionization, carbon filters, reverse osmosis)
There are basic carbon filters that DO NOT FILTER out many contaminants and there are more advanced filters like reverse osmosis filters that do.
Alkaline Water
—has a higher pH (typically 8–9) great to help balance the body’s potentially imbalanced PH levels for a short period of time.
Not suggested for long term use, because it doesn’t have natural minerals needed for hydration. In my experience after a few days of drinking only alkaline water I end up FEELING DEHYDRATED.
Ionized Water
—is created by an electrolysis machine that separates water into alkaline and acidic components.
It is only suggested for specialized cleanses for a short period of time
Usually additionally hydration is required since its hydration properties are removed.
Reverse Osmosis Water
—multistep filtration system that removes heavy metals, bacteria, and chemicals, and also strips away its minerals
Many systems and bottled water add back electrolytes (calcium, magnesium, potassium, etc.)
In my opinion, the best on the market right now because of it’s multi-step filtration system
Spring Water
—water from local or international springs that usually contains natural beneficial minerals (like calcium and magnesium).
Another one of my favorite hydrating sources
4 WAYS TO START DRINKING CLEANER WATER:
#1: Test Your Water
Investigate—Still skeptical?
Test your water—you can buy in-home water quality test kits to test your water quality. Keep in mind they will be limited in what harmful substances you can test (arsenic, lead, etc.)
#2: Search Your Water By Zip Code
Search your water by Zip Code— One of my favorite resources I learned in school that I frequently use is the Environmental Working Group (EWG) —it is basically a more advanced and well funded non-profit that conducts research on all matters related to health, free for the public.
Using their search my water by zip code, you can educate yourself and others on your water quality on HOW CLEAN or DIRTY it is based on your zip code—you are also able to see where the water comes from.
If it says surface water—THAT IS AN IMMEDIATE RED FLAG 🚩, spring or ground water that is a GREEN FLAG✅.

#3: Change Your Water
Change what you are doing! Brita Filters aren’t going to cut it—my biggest tip is to either buy custom water filters / softeners or buy cleaner water.
Start drinking reverse osmosis or Spring water (some companies will refill and deliver 5-gallons of water to your door)
#4: Advocate to your Local Government
Call or write emails to your council members, local and state public health departments and tell them that you care and are unhappy/concerned with the status quo. Their office numbers/emails are public information, Chat can help you find it even faster…
The Final Score
So, Which One is Best?”
For everyday hydration: Spring water or remineralized RO water are most balanced.
For occasional use: Alkaline or ionized water can be fine in moderation but shouldn’t replace regular water.
Read Labels— check how the water had been purified/produced/ whether it contains minerals or electrolytes key for hydration.
For safety: Always choose water from brands that publish testing results to ensure purity and mineral content.
